MetroQuest has created a collection of templates to use as a starting point for your following survey! It features templates for the most frequently used surveys and screen combinations in various project types. They are pre-populated with images, text, and other relevant content based on best practices and drawn from great examples of real-world surveys. This library allows you to browse topics and pick a completed survey to copy and edit for you to make it fit your project and purposes. You can access this library by clicking the “Survey Library” tab on your Studio Dashboard.
The first thing you will notice when you open the library is a list of dropdown filters on the top of the screen. You can use these to narrow down the templates to one that will best fit your project’s scope. The filters you have available are :
Phase
- Gathering Preferences
- Considering Options
- Reviewing Draft Plans
- Other
Type (with specific sub-types for each)
- Land Use
- Transportation
- Real Estate
- Utilities
- Other
Scale
- Site
- Neighborhood
- City
- County
- Region
- State
Once you have narrowed down your search, a list of templates fitting your criteria will appear. For each template, you can click through images of each screen and read a brief description of the type of project it is best used for.
Additionally, there is a search bar if you are looking for a specific template.
More Details
If a template catches your eye, you can click on the gray “More details” button to get specific information for each screen. These include the following:
- Content: What appears on this screen
- Task: What it asks the participant to do
- Purpose of Screen: The reason the screen is used
- Data: What participant data you can expect to get from the screen
You can use this material to determine whether the screens will be able to get the input you are looking for.
Try Demo
If a template looks like it will fit your specific needs , you have the option to try it out for yourself by clicking the yellow “Try Demo” button, which will open a Demo Survey version of the template in a new window. Using this, you can go through the different screens and see what it is like to take the survey as a participant.
Copy Survey
If you like what you see and would like to use a template for your own survey, you can click the green “Copy Survey” button. From there, you can set a title for your survey and your desired launch and end dates/times and then click “Copy.” Note that you can adjust these settings later if anything changes.
After a couple of minutes, your copied template should appear on your Studio Dashboard. From there, all you must do is “Review and Confirm Details , ” where you have the option to change any necessary settings before confirming.
Finally, you will be able to go into Editor and input content over the template, making the survey your own!
